One of Square Enix‘s anticipated title, Final Fantasy XIII, is released tomorrow. I haven’t really played any of the Final Fantasy series ever since FF8, when Square Enix totally changed the style of the characters I think because the technology was in transition and better quality was embedded to games more and more. I still think FF7 was one of the best games from the FF series. Even though the graphics weren’t the greatest when we look back at it now, the story, concept, and idea that revolves around the game is something FF fanatics will never forget.

Now that I have a PS3, which I got sometime last year, and I’ve never really played video games before that since I had the first Playstation console, I’m planning to embark on another Final Fantasy journey. I’ll probably have a few late nights playing (and a few evil stares from my wife), but don’t expect me to finish the game in record time. I’m not the same gamer as I used to be. Don’t get me wrong; I’m still a pretty decent player, but I start yawning at 11pm for crying out loud! Oh, to be a kid again *sigh. I digress.

For the long-time FF fanatics out there or even FF newcomers, seeing the online videos and reviews of this new installment makes me confident that this game will not disappoint. The battle modes, the design, and the gameplay look very well made. Even the interface looks easy to use and pleasing to the eye. And as usual, there are plenty of new characters to choose from. Square Enix has always prevailed when adding new editions to the FF series. FFXIII is no different, and will only get better. The game is released tomorrow, March 9, for $59.99, and I found that if you pre-order with Best Buy, you receive a $5 gift card. I’m in no rush to pick one up, but I’m sure there’s going to be quite a few that will be.

Watch below for FFXIII’s battle showcase.
